The cabin is somewhat secluded. It is snuggled up right next to a rock cliff where your fire pit is right under which is an amazing experience. You can explore around the cabin and you almost feel as if you are on one of the hikes you go on. Down from the cabin is a beautiful waterfall and in front is a creek where we saw deer a few mornings. We saw a flock of wild turkey too. Very quiet and just what we needed. Place was clean. Will return for the third time.
If you're looking for a comfortable place off the beaten path, Fireside hits all the marks. We stopped by the main office on Hwy 11 to pick up the welcome packet and key. A poorly drawn, but sufficient map led us to the cabin, after we realized the signs hadn't been read properly. The gravel road is no kidding single track, which was fun, but would be difficult in the winter without 4WD/AWD.
