The interaction with the sales staff was slow but once the sales contract was completed there was a pleasant interaction with installation of a gas fireplace. A problem arose but was quickly addressed by staff.

Contracted with the Fireplace Shoppe for a new mantel and surround on March 16th. It took them 7 1/2 months to complete the work (from March 16th - October 31st). I’ll give them 2 months due to Covid and can understand delays due to material availability. But not poor, non existent communication. One excuse after another - delay after delay. How many times can something be cut wrong. Ripped out old mantel and got to look at a hole in the floor and glue spots for months. Say they will be at our house, sit home and wait. I have never experienced such1/8 poor service and communications as I have had with Fireplace Shoppe, in the Wilmington, DE area. I got an estimate to convert my wood burning fireplace to one that was electrical, was contacted by a rep on 1/8 who told me it would be an easy conversion and cost would be a total of 1805.OO if I gave a 900.00 cash payment which I did. We purchased fireplace insert and it was installed May 2019. I was told that a free checkup would be given Feb 2020. We had the installers come out after the installation because the flames were too blue. they came out once and did slight adjustment. they said in Feb 2020 they would check again. I called to schedule the Feb checkup and they have no record of our purchase OR the promise made. Told I would get a call back in 24 hours that hasn't happened either. Shop elsewhere!
