Went in because of severe panic attacks all day, the Dr working that night insisted on getting me started on anxiety meds. Told me I could go home and he'd write me a few days worth to get through the weekend but encouraged me to stay overnight to talk to a counselor in the morning. I told him I wanted to go home to see my dog he said that that was okay and my choice and while I was waiting to leave a nurse came in and told me both her and the DR didn't feel comfortable sending me home until I spoke to a counselor in person ... read more

Once again this hospital has proven "patient care" is not their priority. My mother with severe asthma is sitting in a waiting room for 4 hrs having trouble breathing! They don't check on nobody, they don't care if you are puking, bleeding and dying in the waiting room. If I wasn't out of state I would never let my mother step into this pathetic ER! This is the first time I have been extremely disappointed in the ER at Firelands. I expected a long wait time on a busy holiday weekend but I also expected professionalism. My mom is 83 and went in for extreme pain. The first ekg machine didn't work and the second one was out of tape. We were taken into a room with a sheet on the bed that had to be changed. My mom never got a blanket or hooked up to any monitors. After 5 hours she finally got a pain pill for an infection and an antibiotic. No fluids or iv. Very little staff ... read more
