Firefly Cafe is set on beautiful Troup Square (named for Governor George Troup). The building was constructed in 1869 for Mr. John J. McDonough, who later became the Mayor of Savannah, serving from 1891-1895. Alfio Finocchiaro, an Italian immigrant, bought the building in 1946. Alfio's youngest son, Frank tried to talk his father out of buying the building. For you see, during those years the neighborhood was quite different. Annual New Years Eve bonfires were held in Troup Square and other downtown squares as a competition ... read more

Great place!! Service was friendly and very prompt, yet not rushed. The food, oh the food. Outstanding!! We have been here several times and will continue to dine here. The feature menu items are always unique and inviting from the salads, soup du jour, sandwiches and dinner entrees. Try the desserts. The creme custards are the best anywhere. The owners have it down!!! We live here in Savannah and have found this gem. Much better than it used be years ago!!!!!! Thank you Firefly!
Great!! – Favorite lunch spot.
best brunch in savannah – I could eat here every day... every single day!
It USED to be great! – We have lived just off Troupe Square for several years. We also own a guest house where our tenants rely on our guidance to make the most of their visits to our very special City. The Firefly WAS a neighborhood spot. Actually, it was our favorite spot. We ate there at least once a week when we were in town. And when we weren't in town, we made sure our friends, family and tenants kept it busy! Terrific local fare, casual dining - something on which you could always count. But then it was sold a couple ... read more
loves it – love it love it love it. great brunch great dinner. nice sake bloody marys. good hash brown. great pastas and seafood. specials are always good. we always bring our family from out of town here to show them wher ethe locals hang otu!
Great place ... A little pricey – Went there on 1/2/09 and really enjoyed the food. The bruschetta was amazing. Most items are closer to $20 and everything is a la carte. I would recomend but it was $80 for my wife & I with appatizer and desert. Well worth it for a nice occasion though!
Unique cuisine with fresh ingredients, friendly staff, but high priced – This is a quaint little cafe on the corner one of Savannahs renowned squares. The food is eclectic and always health portions. Service is prompt and there is outside seating. They have a good selection of wines and make a great Bloody Mary. The prices are higher than you might expect, perhaps $15 a person not including alcoholic beverages. Atmosphere is modern but relaxing.
The BEST food in Savannah – This restuarant serves the freshest cuisine that you will find anywhere. I highly recommend the Homemade Alfredo, or the Dressed Up Mac & Cheese. The value is wonderful. You receive a healthy portion of food for a reasonable price.
