One of the few remaining local yarn shops with unusual (somewhat pricey) yarns but on the other hand if you want average you can shop at Joanne's, and try finding someone knowledgable.
I went to Fine Points in the fall of 2011 to get yarn to make crocheted amigurumi. From the moment I entered the store, I was asked every 3 to 5 minutes if I needed help, and also followed from room to room. I don't know if it was that specific employee or a store policy to profile certain people as potential shop lifters, but it was made abundantly clear that I was a suspected to be a criminal and not welcome. for a one-of-a-kind project When you need yarn for a "knock 'em dead - one of a kind" project, this is the place to come! Their stock of beautiful, artsy yarn is astounding! Silk. Fine, fine cotton. Shimmers and metallics. Expensive, but well priced for the high quality.
Upscale yarns and knitting supplies Fine Points is a high-end yarn store and is considered to be the pinnacle of yarn stores in Cleveland. Fine Points features very upscale and very pricey yarns, but a good moderate selection as well. The new or occasional knitter may be a bit intimidated by sinking so much money into a yarn purchase, but the avid and professional knitter, this is a godsend for finding high-end supplies locally.
