I wanted to get a memorial tattoo as a tribute to my brother who recently passed. I am a hobby artist and it was really important for me to find someone who did both tattoos and painting. I wanted to be able to connect to the person doing this piece and really collaborate to come up with a design that both honored my brother and expressed my artsy style. A couple of years back, as I decided it was time for my next tattoo, I was introduced to the name: Tariq Sabur. Phoenix's very own Pete "Supermix" Salaz was at the time getting some incredibly detailed ink work of two Chinese Foo Dogs on his forearms, and the remarkable attention to detail of said work was truly impressive. My father passed away and I wanted a great blue heron to commemorate his passing as it was his favorite bird. I need someone I could trust something this important to. Tariq was absolutely brilliant. He redrew my heron 3 times until I felt perfect about it, he took his time, he asked me questions while I was getting inked up, and also gave me some quiet time. Tariq is a great artist/tattoo/words.. His art talent is unimaginable.He was definately given a special gift and he shares it with the world.. It's a gift that keeps on giving .. I am always in awe with Tariq's raw talent. I am thankful that we connected so that I could get my tat.. I got it a few years back but when I look at my tat it seems like it was freshly done ..
