Very disappointing experience with Ameris Bank. During the refinance of my loan, the original loan was in the process of being paid off by the new lender, yet Ameris Bank reported a late payment on my credit report. I had a very disappointing experience with Ameris Bank / DMI. During the refinance process of my mortgage, a late payment was incorrectly reported to the credit bureaus, which negatively affected my credit score. This should never have happened while the loan payoff and refinance were in progress. Even more frustrating was the lack of support from customer service.
