Once again, Michael at Ferrante’s Oriental Rug Cleaning Co did a wonderful job with our hand-woven camel wool rug. Because it's a delicate piece, we really appreciate how carefully he hand-washes it. It's so nice to get our rug back fresh, clean, and looking lovely.
We recently had 5 wool area rugs cleaned. Two of the rugs are 100+ years old and the other 3 range in age from 30 to 45 years old. None had been professionally cleaned before. Big mistake on our part. Dragging the rugs ourselves out onto a concrete patio and scrubbing them with a stiff brush, using a garden hose and a mild soap like Woolite to clean them, although a traditional method of cleaning many years ago, did nothing to preserve the integrity nor adequately clean them.
