i went to see Dr. Andrade to set up as a new PCP. When i had mentioned to him that i wanted to start lexapro again for my depression as i had been struggling a bit recently and that helped me in the past. He told me that he doesn’t believe in mental illness and that real mental illness is “if you told me you were peter pan and wanted to go to never land” which was extremely invalidating. Like many across our nation I have grown very weary of our healthcare system over the last five years. Yet during that time Dr. Andrade has been there for me. He listens and he helps. Told me to come by when I had a specific problem so he could identify and solve it for me and and one morning I did just that, drove straight to his office no appointment no call, and he broke his schedule to see me.
