Unfriendly Receptionist I was so happy to see that Richmond had a feline only center....I scheduled an appointment to get my cat a checkup. As it turned, I had to reschedule the appointment and called 6hrs ahead to try to get rescheduled the next day or within the week. The receptionist was ANGRY that i had to cancel....and took no liberty to hide it. She said there was nothing else available....all week. GREAT place to take your cats When our old cat was ill with cancer this was the ONLY place in town that took us seriously -- most animal hospitals we went to figured that with her age we wouldn't want to do much to treat her -- now most things would have been risky with an older cat, but this animal hospital took great care of her, put her on some medicine that slowed the growth of the cancer without surgery and wished that we had found them sooner -- the cat lived with cancer for 3 years, so obviously there was a chance whe... read more
Excellent Services and Staff! It is my understanding that since 2007 there has been a new and friendly receptionist who dedicates her life to ensuring that clients get the appointments that they need for their pets. She and Dr. Burke are very knowledgeable in the field of veterinary medicine and work to provide the best care to all animals that they treat. I have taken my three cats to this vet for ten years. Compassionate Care Dr. Burke and his staff provided the most compassionate and professional veterinary care I have ever encountered. The entire staff showed that they cared and were all supportive when the time came to put my cat to sleep. While another vet thought my cat was old and having behavioral issues, Dr. Burke gave him a full examination and ran a series of tests to understand why he was so feeble. As it turns out, he had lymphoma.
