James W. must be a competitor trying to generate his own business. Every time I went to the dealer for service on my Mini, I'd get a long list of repairs and a bill for hundreds of dollars. Although I loved my car, I was getting frustrated with the maintenance expense. I found Federal Motors and discovered that the problem wasn't the car, it was the dealer charging for unnecessary repairs. Chris runs the best auto maintenance shop ever. I would never go anywhere else. I moved to Howard County and still bring my car to Federa... read more
If you have unlimited funds and want quality parts that are broke changed with crap made in china, then you get your vehicle back and pay hundreds for zero results, yea, take your vehicle to federal motors
Not a bad place to break down. Service was fast, affordable, and courteous. Chris even checked that my battery was sitting correctly right before I pulled out.
What a delight to have car repairs done! Chris fixed the drivability problem with my 2005 Impala that the dealer couldn't even find! He was honest, charged me less for fixing it than the dealer, (JBA), charged me for NOT fixing it. I guess he'd rather fix a modern car than look at some guy's '55 Buick Roadmaster. Sounds like he was maybe looking for a year's free storage! I've read plenty of reviews of this shop. They are tops! Thanks Chris!!!!!!!!!
Excellent, honest service – Chris provides excellent service. His repair costs consistently are significantly less than we've paid for similar services at the national chains and dealer. Unless unusual parts are needed, the repairs are normally done the same day and if there's a chance it won't be completed the same due to backlog, Chris tells you that when you make the appointment. Another plus - if Chris isn't sure of the correct repair (due to conflicting diagnostic codes on the computer), he'll tell you to go to the deal... read more
disappointed I took my 1955 Buick Roadmaster to Fed Mtrs because it had an electrical short which drained the battery and caused the horn to sound at odd times. After having my car for over 1 year, it was returned to me with a new horn installed, an oil change and tune-up, and the brake lines rust-proofed. The electrical short was not addressed. The car sat for 2 days and the battery was completely drained. We had to buy a new battery, and are now looking for a new mechanic to address the electrical short.
good honest mechanic - a rarity these days These guys go the extra mile, make sure the customer is satisfied, and STILL come up with the best price in town!!
reasonable prices, excellent service
