I came across the FIC on Google and it was the best find ever on the internet! The folks at FIC were wonderful in assisting me through the maze of the federal workers compensation program. They are a tremendous benefit to any federal worker injured on the job. I highly recommend them as a starting resource.
It has been chaotic from the beginning. I requested to schedule on OWCP website a month ago and was told I can see a doctor in a week. Got an appointment for tomorrow a week ago, only to get a phone call now at 8 pm telling me Dr. has to cancel my appointment for personal reasons and the next availability is 8 days later. People have leave scheduled from work and businesses arranged to come in. The case manager also said the provider is not a hand or lower extremity specialist, which is what I need. Where do I start?? My husband was injured on the job and suffered greatly physically and financially. The first time around we had no knowledge of this agency and went ahead ourselves fighting workers compensation correspondences, not submitting the right info, ring around the Rosie with doctors. I'm a USPS letter carrier I had several Injuries neck/headache , rt shoulder, rt hip, and lower back. I went to doctor after doctor nobody would help me , only wanted to cover it up. Federal Injury Center help me at no cost to me. Took a lot of stress from the paperwork off me. Help me by telling me what I need to do.
