My experience with Fabco was disappointing. I called to negotiate a settlement on an alleged debt, and we agreed on a reduced amount that would satisfy the account. When I requested a written settlement agreement before paying, I was told they would not send one until after payment was received. Expecting someone to send a substantial payment without first receiving the settlement terms in writing is unreasonable. I rented an apartment at Essington Village Apartments in Columbus, Ohio. When I moved out, I was charged $596 for cleaning and carpet replacement. I disagreed with these charges, but the account was later sent to Fabco Collections. I contacted Fabco and requested documentation proving that the carpet had been replaced, specifically an invoice from the apartment management.
