It wasn’t as upscale and healthy as we expected. We were a little bit disappointed. Even though food was locally sourced, it was still mostly pretty heavy and they use canola oil even in salads, which is very disappointing! We tried most of the items in the menu, spent close to $500 in total, but there only two meals I really liked and would order again: oysters and beef tartar. We had a nice experience at Fauna. The menu is small but designed to surprise you. Only the main ingredients are listed. All dishes were beautifully presented. The shrimp, the strawberries salad and the beef tartare were outstanding. I found the pork chop a bit on the fat side but my friend loved it. The ladies enjoyed the crab pasta. The only real negative is the noise level. It can get so loud that you can’t have a conversation with friends sitting at your table.
Took my partner there to celebrate his birthday, I had requested a slice of cake in my reservation, nothing was brought to him, we went to many different restaurants for different ppl’s birthdays and they could always accommodate a slice of cake.
