He makes sure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure
I’ve had gallbladder issues for the last few years and when I went to Dr. Elmi, he spent maybe an hour explaining my gallbladder issue and because of his care and explanation, which I my dad know what the doctor had explain to me, 30 days later I had my gallbladder removed and I would highly recommend this doctor he has a great bedside manner, he is compassionate and he explains in full detail what is going on with the digestive system.
I had a lot of anxieties about having a colonoscopy at Vassar. Upon arriving, the personnel was very sincere and efficient. The nurse preparing me for the procedure was exceptionally caring and professional which made my anxieties dissipate. After 20 minutes, Dr. Elmi arrived and he right away made me feel that I would be well taken care of. Listening to his respectful communications with the staff convinced me that I was in very good hands. After waking up, Dr. Elmi explained to me what happened in detail and gave me some p... read more

Dr. Farshad Elmi is a thoughtful, considerate and wonderful GI doctor. He listened to my issues and addressed them with an accurate diagnosis which lead me to have an ERCP surgery with the removal of a large bile duct stone...His procedures and testing skills were completely on par for my condition and resolved the intense pain that I had been experiencing for over a month...I highly would recommend Dr. Elmi and his staff...
I had heard about Dr. Elmi while sitting in a waiting room for another doctor's visit I had had. The other patients were raving about him. When I first met with Dr. Elmi - I understood what his other patients were talking about. He is kind, he explains everything and does not make you feel rushed. On the day of my procedure - Dr. Elmi and his team were amazing. They put me at ease and I felt safe. I would highly recommend Dr. Elmi to everyone. Through the years, my parents, my children and I have had to go to several differe... read more
I went for my endoscopy today everyone was very friendly and made you feel comfortable. Really appreciate Tony she was very nice and she has a wonderful personality.
Dr. Elmi is by far the most personable Doc I have ever had. I have had 2 Colonoscopies and a few other visits. Each time Dr. Elmi takes extra time to sit and chat explaining EVERYTHING about the procedure, why you need it. He genuinely cares about you as a person and wants you to be comfortable, looks you in the eye and engages you. I have never felt rushed. Valerie who sets up the procedures is beyond awesome as well and super helpful and obviously cares about her job and the patients.
