I had been a policy holder with Farmers Mutual for 5 years and recently got a letter that my home was "inspected" and no longer met "underwriting requirements" for the policy I had, and they were canceling my policy. I called them directly to find out why and apparently they do not cover replacement cost on homes 50 years or older. My home was built in 1930 and didn't suddenly become older than 50 years old in the last 5 years. This company is a waste in every aspect. There is so much to explain. If I were you, I would shop else where. I am having to file complaints with several agencies and see an attorney to get $3,800 of repairs completed. Here is one thing. We had an insurance adjuster come out. He did the required paperwork. They sent us a check in mine and my wife name. We started the repairs, it was worse then expected. We contacted the adjuster again, he did the required paperwork.
