This is the quaintest gem of a yarn store! The variety and quality surpass expectations!! The store staff and extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The addition of fun gifts and unique patterns make it the ONLY place to shop for yarn here in Anchorage ***** !
Good variety of yarn choices in a small store, but the lady who works there acts nice, seems almost “pushy” and somewhat judgy/ageist. Not at all what I expected from this place when I first found it. She greeted me promptly, with a customer service act that comes across a little short and quick. Walked into Farm North Yarn Company as a guy who knows absolutely nothing about yarn… and walked out feeling like I just got a masterclass. I went in to grab a gift for my wife, fully expecting to point at something and hope for the best. Instead, Ms. Kay took the time to walk me through different types of yarn, what they’re used for, and even the kinds of projects they go into. Lovely yarn and lovely people! They have yarn that is hard to find elsewhere in Alaska which I appreciate. I'd say this is a good place if you want higher end yarn. And they have ChiaoGoo needles, which are my favorites! The owner is very kind and helpful, too. What a great place!
