Very awful experience. These are not professionals and they showed up in a Uhaul truck. Half way into the move, the ramp on the uhaul came completely off track and they did not know how to repair it. They shattered our glass dining table, tore holes in our leather furniture and moved at a very slow pace. I do not recommend them at all. After speaking with their supervisor, I realized where the employees learned their lack of professionalism.
Would give zero stars if possible. We received an estimate from "Leo" on February 12, 2018 for our household move with packing and loading scheduled for May 2 & 3, and moving on May 4, 218. Leo visited our house a 2nd time on April 17 and confirmed the move, packing, materials, etc. On Friday evening, April 27, I receive a call from Jamie, the "owner", stating they cannot do the move for the quoted price and says I have to pay $1000 more. Zero stars. But, you are forced to give it at least one. The Family First Movers overcharged me by doubling the cost if I paid online. If I wanted to pay them cash, then I could pay the true amount. What kind of sham is this? First, they were late. Then, contrary to my instructions, they did not pad the floor for my antiques, breaking wheels on tables, which are irreplaceable. I do not recommend Family First Movers. Jayme, the owner, was rude and seemed to want to cancel this job. It was necessary that I move items from storage that day. His assistant was helpful and polite. The owner was not prepared as far as having enough assistants to move the amount of items I had. Therefore, I ended up helping get items in and off the truck. Judy did not move 1/3 of the furniture. Anyone thats moved furniture, knows that is not a true statement. She was difficult from the start. She used us a couple weeks before and was obviously happy as she booked us again for this move. She did NOT disclose everything she had to move and then was surprised it took a little longer. I called to schedule a full house move and the movers came expecting to only move a few items. I had to pay $100 more to get them to move my full house. They damaged two items during the move and the drivers asked me for a tip during time of payment. The company wanted me to pay hundreds more to file an "insurance claim" to fix the items they damaged".
Business response:
This customer never submitted anything in writing per contract, and we were not aware of any alleged damages. We would never ask for anyone to pay upfront to submit a damage claim. Nor would the movers ASK for a tip. This review is utterly false.
