If you are considering giving birth here, I beg you to choose a different hospital. All I will say is that coming here to deliver my beautiful daughter back in March after going into labor prematurely ended up costing her life.
I was so excited to give birth here, went to all the classes and the tour and felt so confident in my decision. But when it came down to it I had barely any support during active labor and delivery. My calls to the nurses station kept getting dismissed down to the last minute before my baby came. It was a very scary experience to feel alone like that as a first time mom. I have such a new profound appreciation for nurses! I never felt so much support from both my wonderful team of midwives at With Women Wellness and the amazing nursing staff at Manchester Birthing Center! I went in with a birth plan which was honored at times during the process, but we had to make some adjustments due to my confront ! Wonderful experience for my second birth - so so so much better than Yale New Haven. Loved that they have a doula program, the doctors, nurses, midwives, anesthesiologist all were wonderful. I had a vbac and it could not have gone smoother. It was a long drive from New Haven and totally worth it. I asked around (lactation consultants etc) and was told that Manchester was the best place to give birth in ct. We recently welcomed our newborn baby at this facility, and I am so glad we chose to give birth here! With it being our first child we didn’t really know what we were doing at all, so we took multiple classes here leading up to baby boy’s birth and they really helped to put us at ease!
