Such a nice change from a big chain store! I am not handy, so when I first lived on my own in Hamden, every little maintenance need was a huge problem. Then I discovered Falkenhans (by word of mouth - they're a real local institution). The stock is more than adequate, and well displayed and priced, but it's the staff that really make the difference. They are so knowledgeable and friendly, and really took the time to make sure I got what I needed (and knew what to do with it!).
The best local hardware store in Baltimore. Falkenhan's Hardware is what family owned hardwares everywhere strive to be. Service is ALWAYS friendly, and frankly, if you don't know what you're looking for, this is the place to be. Prices are as low or lower than the major chains, and I've yet to find a thing that I can't get there.
