We had a wonderful stay at Alton's farm as our base for visiting Montpelier, Monticello etc. The location was perfect as the hiking behind the farm was fantastic and the miniature horses and hound dog that helped lead us on our hike. The combination of beautiful nature and the modern farm cottages was a blessed experience. Thank you!
What a beautiful place! We just left and I miss it already. I grew up on this farm back in the 70’s and 80’s. This was such a treat to be able to stay here! Alton, you have done a great job and everything was wonderful! Felt like home and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We brought food from town, made drinks and sat around the fire pit. I can’t imagine having a better experience! Thank you and I’m hoping to make this an annual trip.
This cabin is very nice. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a private getaway. The cabin is has everything we wanted and is clean and comfortable. The hiking trail was great and not very difficult for most people.
A wonderful stay in a serene and picturesque setting! The house studio was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. We especially loved the peaceful, neighbor-free surroundings, which made for a truly relaxing experience. Alton was a fantastic host—warm, attentive, and available. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and will return.
I stayed at the Carriage House Studio this past weekend with my partner! Highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful weekend getaway near Shenandoah National Park.
