Easy boat access with free parking. Great kayaking spot.
Across the rail tracks from the Boat Launch is a tidal lagoon. When the tide is out, the lagoon becomes a mud flat through which Padden Creek forms a swooping S-curve channel. Gulls, ducks, geese, crows and heron hang out here.
Usually a train-wreck (metaphorically speaking) at this ramp, either launching or hauling, or sometimes both. Due to the crazy awkward and conflicting traffic flow pattern necessary to make this work, and the number of inexperienced folks using this launch, invariably someone gets it wrong and it only takes a single vehicle/trailer combo to clog the whole thing up.
