I had a $10,000 deposit on a CT5 V Blackwing for almost 3 years at this point. Finally the dealership was able to get an allocation for the Blackwing and once that came in the GM had my sales person constantly "remind" me the the GM's friend really wants this allocation. So after a while they wear me down and I give up the allocation to the GM's "friend".
