Steve USED to do a great job. 2023 he made a mistake on my federal. Took two years to get 370 bucks back from IRS. This year i decided to use Turbo Tax. Its ALL "plug in your numbers" software. I had to pay 73 bucks in interest & penalties from 2024's filing ..This was Steve Fahnestock & assoc mistake also but he wiggled right out of it & told me the IRS would recalculate & send me a refund. I paid a kings ransome to have my taxes done PROFESSIONALLY & ERROR free, its not what we got. He took no accountability for this error... read more
Definitely had a very different experience than the previous 4 reviews. When I had a few questions about my tax preparation I was felt like I shouldn’t have questions at all and Steven became angry and agitated while on the phone. Very uncomfortable experience. Couple months later I received a letter that they will no longer provide accounting services to us. Very unprofessional when it comes to answer simple questions. Whether they respond to this review or not, I do not recommend them. Hot headed “professionals”.
Fahnestock & Assoc CPAs (and its predecessor firm) has been our company's CPA for over 5 decades. The trust this firm earned from my father over 50+ years (I'm a second generation owner) was virtually limitless. In my 8 years with Steve, I am thankful for his insight, awareness, and candor. Fahnestock & Assoc CPAs are as good as it gets.
Steven is great! Went above and beyond to tackle some unique tax situations, and seemed to enjoy the challenge. Couldn't recommend him and his team more.
I just finished my taxes for my first year in business. Steve and crew are amazing to work with, organized, communicative, and really nice. Steve was really great to talk to, he is so down to earth and caring about his clients. I would recommend him to anybody. I was blown away by how organized the process was.
