Having clients who are forced to shop insurance from you due to unfortunate circumstances or poor decisions in the past does not give you the right to treat these clients like the scum of the earth. Absolute jerks. Avoid them if you aren't forced to deal with them thanks to the evil insurance monopolies in Ontario or the corrupt money hungry provincial government which has done nothing to help taxpayers. There’s definitely some kind of scam afoot with this company. Various insurance brokers funneled me through them (via Mitch insurance) and their rates were insane. I was seeking M1 (learners permit) insurance, and they quoted me $4,500 per year. (I’m 63 with a flawless driving record.) With a little digging, I found insurance through Echelon for around $70 per month vs $388 with this outfit. I suspect that a chunk of their premiums is going back to those brokers who refer clients to them. Avoid at all costs.
Looking forward to reporting to ombudsman for the 27,000 dollar quote I received for a run of the mill van and with 0 points on license and no accidents in the last 5 years.
I have a clean record but due to my Ex OPP Chev Express' VIN not being in a date base for standard insurance I was told I couldn't get even a quote from anyone except Facility. Took almost 3 months to get a quote of 7800 for bare minimum insurance. Absolutely outrageous, for a clean record, over 10 years of driving experience and a standard non comercial vehicle. Very disappointed with this association
Facility is a legitimate insurance company who takes very high risk clients. In accordance with the insurance act of Ontario, facility charges based on the risk. The people who end up at facility have been denied basically everywhere else. I wouldn’t blame the company for their high premiums, I would reevaluate my driving habits so as not to end up with facility. In essence, drive better and get rewarded.
