Saved my life in 1991 while 6months pregnant after an ER ob-gyn dismissed my pain (small bowel obstruction from a massive tumor) and left me in agony for 2 days. Someone saw I had had my appendix removed by Dr Smith when I was 3mo pregnant (irritation from same tumor) and he came in to see me and told my husband if he didn't operate my heart and my baby's would fail shortly. Because of a strong family history of breast cancer, I consulted with Dr. Smith. He is so knowledgeable regarding hereditary and breast cancer. He took a lot of time talking with me and gathering information about my family, charting our history and explaining the importance of having the information necessary to make informed decisions.
