I had a very disappointing experience with Eyecare Specialist due to their unfair billing practices. I scheduled a routine eye exam for a glasses prescription, which should have been covered by my VSP vision insurance with a $10 copay. I rarely write reviews, but this time I felt like I had to. It was my first visit to this eye clinic. Before the appointment I made sure to submit all of my insurance details. The amount I was eventually charged was much bigger than I expected. I started calling their billing department, and discovered that they didn't apply my insurance. The mistake was made on their end, but I had to make so many calls and waited almost for 2 months for them to finally issue the refund. Dr. A rushed my appointment. she didn’t even do the complete eye exam. I had to call and ask for them to redo it with Dr. Mills. That was almost worse. Dr. Mills completed the full eye exam, but she gaslit me through the whole appointment. I have chemical burns in both of my eyes from an eyelash lift and tint. She tried telling me the redness from the chemical is from smoking medical marijuana, or possibly not getting enough sleep.
