I came in contact with extravagant fare around april Mr. Lyons was very helpful and concerned after the consultation I decided to book mr. lyons I noticed lack of communication with mr. lyons after giving him a 2000.00 deposit but he later returned all calls. If I had not looked at the news I would have never known about this con artist my event was scheduled for august 2013 in the process of finding another caterer after losing 2500.00
BEWARE OF EXTRAVAGANT FARE! Upon the recommendation of our wedding/reception venue, last summer 2012 we hired Extravagant Fare/Sean Lyons to cater the reception for our July 2013 wedding. DO NOT USE EXTRAVAGANT FARE, TOTAL CON ARTIST. We booked Extravagant Fare as our wedding caterer a year in advance for our April 20th wedding and ran into many problems about 4 months out. His communication skills were seriously lacking as well as his competency. I am seriously confused as to how he can even own a business. Do not do business with Extravagant Fare (Sean Lyons)! We contracted with them to cater our wedding in May 2013. He took our money in advance. He failed to return emails and phone calls. He never showed up for our event nor did he contact us to explain! He pulled the same scam with another wedding on the same date!
Unprofessional no service and took money beware
DO NOT USE under any circumstances. The owner, Sean Lyons, is a con artist--he took our money for deposits and then disappeared. We've subsequently heard that the same thing happened to others who did business with him. We're now out thousands of dollars and have had to scramble to find a new caterer.
Extravagant Fare catered my wedding this July, and I couldn't be happier. First of all, Sean replied almost immediately to all of my emails and phone calls--unlike many of the other caterers I contacted. He was super easy to work with. Most importantly, the food was delicious! I received many comments on the food, and saw many empty plates at the end of the meal. I'd recommend Extravagant Fare most highly.
Excellent Experience – Located in Durham Extravagant Fare is defiantly my preferred caterer for my own personal use as well as for my clients. Their superior service and attention to the smallest detail is what places them several levels above the rest.
