We had such a great weekend between the sunset cruise and the Smith island tour. This is definitely on my list of things to do again and I highly recommend you do it. Great people
A great tour if you really want to learn something about Smith Island. Our tour guides, Everett and Carole-Ann, are natives of the island with deep family roots, so they are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing what they know. The tour includes visits to three island communities, an interesting museum about the island, a delicious crab cake lunch, a crabbing demonstration, and a visit with Everett's gracious parents. WOW!!! What an incredible experience. This was such a fun, informative and beautiful trip. Everett, Carole Ann and Everett’s parents couldn’t have been more attentive and pleasant! Everett and Carole Ann shared so many wonderful experiences of life on Smith Island having grown up on the islands. My husband and I were having a conversation about Smith Island and wondered if you could tour the Island. We happened to see Everett and his wife and the Spring Boat show and learned about their company Experience Smith Island. We took the Experience Smith Island tour over the weekend. Everett was an excellent waterman and guide. Sitting in his Mom's kitchen learning how to make a Smith Island Cake, Touring the museum all helped us understand Smith Island and it's people a little bit more.
What an awesome day trip, the weather was perfect & the boat ride over from the mainland was amazing. We had a delicious lunch, afterwards we had the pleasure of renting a golf cart to explore the island & just to explore a tab bit more we rented a bike. This was my third visit , such a pleasure to get away from the city life.
