Locals call this the "murder gym". It's dirty and gross - loved seeing used dental floss on the floor in the same spot for a week. Also, be prepared to be forced to listen to whatever terrible music a few regulars decide to play on repeat on their Bluetooth speaker and make everyone listen to given that they’ve never heard of headphones.
I come up to Port Hardy a few times a year for work and love coming to this gym. I forgot my wedding ring near one of the machines yesterday and texted Wendy right away, she assured me that she would check the cameras or anything else that was needed…I went back and found it exactly where it was! Great gym and ownership, will definitely be back!
Was very pleased to have this available during my short work stay. More than enough equipment to get in any workout, and the independent 24/7 access is fantastic.
This gym gets the job done, but it’s not exactly a pleasant experience. Cleaning seems to be optional, the door alarm beeps non-stop like background noise from a horror movie, and someone’s always blasting questionable music like it’s their personal DJ booth. If you’re just here to lift and leave, it works—but don’t expect a clean or peaceful vibe.
Wonderful gym. Everything a person needs.
