Worst. Please not Dr Simmons. Tried my best to see the best out of the experience. But no. Two ppl had previously recommended I don’t what happened with how she handled my journey.
I don’t know what I was thinking when I decided to pick Evelyn Simmons as my provider. She is condescending and has terrible TERRIBLE bedside manners. The moment she walked in the patient room, I already knew she was not it for me. She also refused to fill out the temporary handicap disability form despite me having good reason and proof for needing it. Please do yourself a favor and not have her as your provider. Told my daughter she was a bad mother for being in preterm labor (2 weeks early) and it was her fault the medicine to stop labor didn’t work. Then told her if her baby was born he would be on a ventilator and could die. Then told her because she takes CBD that her baby would be born with THC in his system and be addicted. When we told her we were leaving she tried to place my daughter on a 24hr hold for monitoring then brought AMA papers that stated she refused IV fluids which could lead to her baby dying.
I cannot say enough good things about Evelyn and her staff. The front desk is kind, accommodating and helpful! Evelyn will visit with you in your appointment and talk, rather than flying in and out of the room. When it came time to discuss our birth plan she listened and adhered to our wishes. It was a seamless delivery, that she actually coached my husband into delivering our baby with her observing. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! She has terrible bedside manners. She scoffed when she found out that me and my daughters dad wasn't married. I tried to have Dr's switched but because I had medicade at the time they couldn't let me see the other dr. She was rude to me almost every visit. Dr. Young ended up having to do my c-section (he was nice). But I had to follow up with Evelyn Simmons. She seemed rude about me not being on birth control.
