Not sure who was paid for the glowing report. Kept my grandparent's rocking chair for almost a year. Did an OK job, but after multiple promises of next week, next month, etc. When I finally told him I would take back unfinished after 11 months, he did finish by next Monday as promised. However, called on telephone to demand I bring cash and pick up since he refused to deliver as he had promised in the store in front of customers. The phone call included numerous insults to both me and my cheap tacky furniture.
Trying giving customers a realistic idea of your timing. Springing a two week family vacation on them, after repeatedly dropping the ball on even giving them a bid, and expecting that they should be happy to unexpectedly wait more than two months for you get to their project is not a great way to do business!
