I saw Dr Rubach 8 months ago, after a long search for an excellent sergeon. Already at that time I was very impressed by his patience, attention and time he dedicated to explain in details, and to answer every question I had. I am out of the country now, and was hospitalized. Before going to the hospital, and while I was in the hospital OUT OF THE COUNTRY Dr. Rubach took the time, called me, and advices over the phone..explaining everything again with much details and kindness. I was very impressed and I’m happy we choose Dr... read more

I knew going in Dr. Rubach was a top-notch surgeon, I had done my research, since it was not my first rodeo. Upon meeting Dr. Rubach I immediately felt at ease, I was blown away by his sincere desire to help me, he explained my options in an earnest and clear way. He took his time looking over my case and though I was not a candidate for surgery at this time, he took the time to call another doctor to find the best possible way to help me. I did not feel like a number or rushed. Kudos Dr. Rubach

Thanks very much for taking care of my surgery literally earlier this morning Dr. Rubach! I already feel excellent. I am so glad that I chose to have you handle this for me. I did a lot of research into which Surgeon I would select (I never had surgery before and was scared) but I knew the second I met you that you were the Doc! You truly know your stuff. Both your staff in your office and at St. Francis are amazing and said the most wonderful things about you as I will too now as walking proof.

Went to Dr. Rubach after a rec from another MD. His bedside manner was poor and the in office visit lasted less than 5 minutes. He told me the hernias I have shouldn't cause me any pain (which they do) and insulted my memory (I've had multiple surgeries over 20 years ago that I couldn't remember the exact date for which he was annoyed by.) Basically did nothing but feel my belly and said he would get back to me after reviewing my medical history. That I can understand. The rudeness, not so much.

Business response:

Ms.A. I am sorry that you disagree with my opinion about your pain. Among facts you forgot about your medical history was the tumor pressing on your stomach nerves. You have seen many doctors about it. You have also missed your follow-up visit, but I will still be glad to see you to help you with your pain. I love doing hernia operations, but in your case it will not do you any good. So let me help you come up with a good treatment plan before somebody agrees to repair your hernia unnecessarily.

Stay away from this doctor. We had a terrible experience with a small surgery that did not even have to go wrong if doctor would not have been so incompetent. Besides being incompetent he is arrogant , doesn't like to answer questions and has an attitude problem. As a result of a poor communication and doctor's incompetence we had to deal with a dehiscence of a surgical wound and months of healing it. Such a disappointment......

Business response:

Ms. D, I am very sorry that your son had a wound complication -- unfortunately it sometimes happens. Also, not being able to respond to your questions is not a sign of arrogance or attitude problem -- I just don't always have all the answers. That is why I referred your son to a wound specialist for help. Eugene Rubach

Dr Rubach answered all my questions (some even before I asked them) and was very thorough explaining the procedure I needed. He built a trust and a comfort level so I was so much more at ease about having surgery. He cares about his patients and their individual needs. When I had a concern after I returned home from surgery and called his office, Dr. Rubach returned my call as soon as he could, and addressed and eased my concerns. I would highly recommend Dr. Rubach. Thank you Dr. Rubach.
