This ACE hardware store is extra large for a neighborhood store, and satisfies 80-90% of homeowner needs. It has extensive and friendly staff. It saves me 14 miles at 35cent/mile, or close to \$5 per trip relative to going to the "big stores".
You pay a little more, but you get real service from people who know what theyre talking about.
While Ace Hardware in Williamsburg is certainly the place if you are looking for some bolt, screw or odd piece of plumbing, my experience with their equipment (lawn mowers, etc.) repair department has been a nightmare.After last years mowing season ended I took my mower in to be serviced, stating I wanted it completely serviced including the drive mechanism.Almost four weeks later I was called to pick it up.
