I had an emergency surgery. I had to have my gallbladder removed a few weeks ago. I had developed painful galstones from my weight loss surgery a year ago. My galstone was inflamed. He was appointed my surgeon. I had such terrible anxiety and it turned out, I was not in surgery for to long, woke up maybe a hour and a half later. I'm a retired RN... I was scheduled and admitted for the first surgery of the day. The surgery time came and went, and the doctor didn't even show up. I turned my hospital identification band in and went home very angry after spending the preceding week in pain and dealing with all the grief of hospital admitting. This incident is a black eye and ethics violation both for the hospital and the surgeon.
We were lucky to have chosen this doctor even before we realized friends knew him well. What an awesome experience we had. He did a wonderful job.
