Estes lacks the ability to ship things in a timely matter, which is pretty crazy for them being a freight company. They pick up loads days after the scheduled pickups, and it takes multiple times of contacting them for that to happen. They would charge us fees if we did the same to them. Tied as the worst freight company in existence in my experience.
Fairly awful. Was waiting a very large freight delivery. Got a call on a Thursday it would be delivered that day and they asked at that time if I had a loading dock. Then said no one told them that. They said they would deliver next day instead at 9am. Waited two hours with no word. Then I got a call from person who shipped said the trucking service was trying to get a hold of me (but I had no missed calls). I picked up my shipment at their terminal. They were very helpful loading it on my trailer.
Shipment was supposed to arrive between 1-5pm on a Wednesday. Called at 4:45pm to inquire if the driver was close and was told there had been a mistake and that the shipment would arrive the next day, same time frame, and driver would call ahead. So, I rearranged my work schedule for the Thursday arrival. Shipment arrived at 9:30am the next morning - no call from driver and no call through building intercom to ring my cell phone.
