Save your sanity and stay away from essex – I will never deal with this company again nor recommend to anyone. Rude, money grabbing people. I received 4 different statements from them when I moved out. First letter showed that they owe me, second I owe them and the 3rd letter showed that the money I owed them was greater than in a second letter. With the 4th one they gave me lil part of my deposit. Right there I could sue them for false statements. We were moving from SF to LA and every weekend would go back and forth moving... read more

Great place to live!! – This place is quiet, great insulation. I have been here for a year and a half and it has been the best decision my husband and i made. We came from a very loud place next door to these apartments and we never look back. The staff is okay nothing special but they dont bother us as long as we pay on time
Horrible horrible place!!!! – Hi there, lived at Villa Siena (Costa Mesa location)and had the most horrible experience of my life. If you live here you most likely have made the unfortunate mistake of agreeing to getting ripped off and robbed by these dishonest scoundrels. The managers are simply rude. Disappointed – At first I was so excited to move into Anchor Village because they are undergoing a major rehab and usually that means better service as well since the product is getting upgraded as well, not so much. Just this week my car was broken into and the reaction or lack of reaction was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Not a good place to live – I live in the apartmetns and the lack of hot water for nearly a week was the last straw and I have to write this review. The management has not responded to repeated emails and on the 3 visits to the office I was told the only person with any authority was "in budget meetings". The leasing office is purely sales and will not assist with any problems. This is not the first water problem. Unfortunate place to live – We lived here for a year while I was pregnant and for the first 6 months of my child?s life and it was a tough experience all around. We had multiple problems in the apartment. The closet door fell on me twice and after having it fixed and still fall off, it ended up just taking up space in the living room against a wall. HORRIBLE PLACE!!! – Hampton Place is HORRIBLE! Do not be fooled by the Management staff. They are only helpful until you sign the lease. Their elevators ALWAYS conveniently BREAK DOWN on Friday afternoons, and they NEVER get it FIXED til Monday or Tuesday. At the moment, all 3 elevators are BROKEN! A Fun Place to go – This place reminds me of the village in new York City. If you are unfamiliar with this type of place, go with a friend and use your head and you will have a great time. If you are looking for a great deal, be prepared to look around. There is a lot of junk, but if you take the time you can find something cool and even try your hand at negotiating a price.
