I had my first appointment scheduled with Dr. Digna Tavares at Essen Medical (1181 Grand Concourse) today at 11:00 AM, but unfortunately, I never got to see the doctor due to issues with the office's administrative process. I arrived early because I rely on Medical Answering Services transportation. The self-check-in kiosk was out of service, and my initial interaction with the front desk was not very welcoming. I honestly don’t know why this location (1881 Grand concourse) has 4.8 stars, unless workers or someone is writing fake reviews. Today I went with my husband for his 10am appointment. We got there at 9:40am and signed in. He did not get seen until 2 hours later! (I’m not even being dramatic) I had to get up twice to ask because the receptionists were not updating anyone , they even asked if he wanted to change the provider. Umm no! Buena atención, personal muy capacitado, he visitado la clínica muchas veces porque mi familia y yo tenemos nuestro doctor primario ahí y puedo decir que las personas que trabajan en el front desk son muy amables, la clínica está siempre limpia y se siente en armonía.

Just wanted to say I had a very positive visit here, I’ve been going to Essen locations for a while and this was the best visit I’ve had, big thank you to Emily for helping me get set up and in and out of there in a timely manner, she’s the best

I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic. The front desk staff had a poor attitude from the moment I arrived and did not seem willing to help at all. Instead of providing clear information or guidance, they were dismissive and unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable asking questions because it seemed like they didn’t care about my concerns. Customer service is extremely important in a healthcare setting. I would not recommend this place to others based on my experience.
