Never can get direct help. Either they don’t answer or asking you to call someone else.
Changing Homelessness went above and beyond what I was expecting. I was living in my car and they help me to get into an apartment. They also help me to get a second job to support myself. I always felt like I was a top priority. They understand us veterans and have the resources to help us.
If I could give it a -5 I would, applied for help on Monday, said I'd have an answer, yay or nay by Thursday. Doing my dillegence, since I heard nothing, contacted counselor and told after updating application it be another week maybe next Thursday... What update to my application?
The people that was assigned to “help” me were HORRIBLE. I was talked down to, belittled and any other negative word you can think of. I got called, dumb, stupid, asked do I having a learning disability, “because what person your age is jobless and get in your situation.” I was told by my case worker more than once, “When you have a plan let me know.” I thought this place was for help and guidance....I just got called names and practically ridicule for the my current situation. Oh and they both were black of course....
Daniel was very condescending and narcissistic. I am truly alarmed, that someone with that type of demeanor, is the one "assisting" disable United States veterans.
Lauren and her team did an awesome job organizing and coordinating the Point in Time Count. They made it so easy for volunteers to come in and just focus on the count. Great organization that makes a huge impact on the lives of our fellow residents.
