Yes, the two-minute grace period is a real thing. And they don't budge. If you're even just three minutes late, that puts you 1 minute past the grace period and they won't let you have your appointment as scheduled. That's what happened to me. How many times have i waited 40 minutes + in the lobby to see my doctor? And they have the nerve to impose a 2 minute grace period? I am sharing my experience with Family Health Centers of Escondido in the hope that it encourages improvements in patient care. My sister passed away in April 2026. Despite notifying the clinic multiple times of her death, I have now received three calls attempting to schedule follow-up appointments for her. Took an HOUR AND A HALF after my appointment time to be seen. I arrived 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment. The provider, Safa Yaqobi, saw me for a few minutes and referred me to dermatology (I knew that’s all I needed, hate HMOs). But she referred me to a provider who doesn’t accept my insurance. I did the feedback survey and requested a call back. That was April 30th. Today is May 18th. The staff was friendly, that’s why it’s not one star.

The reception is not ok if you come two min late because of traffic she is telling you I don’t care you are late my kids was need to see the doctor but she rejected my appointment the doctor are great just the front desk is not good
