I was quoted a price on a steel building then Matt took way too long to get the ball rolling. He ended up taking so long that Covid hit and the price skyrocketed. He increased the price even though it was in the time period of what he quoted me. It was way too much for me to afford after that. He claimed he got Covid but it was months before he got back to me. He ended up blaming his engineer. He said he fired the engineer and had to get another one.

I have had the chance to work with Mat on a few different types and scales of projects. As an architect, I have learned a lot from him on the topic of steel building design, but also how to cut costs and simplify details on a more general scale. On one particular project, Mat went above and beyond to keep the project moving, on budget, when there are many factors working against the success of the project, including a severe lack of input from the ownership. ES Steel Buildings has been a huge help to our design firm & client relations. The owner Mat is knowledgeable and straight forward. He has opinions even on tiny stuff like using the right type of corner bead to avoid water damage, or adding jamb/head details to keep doors from rattling. Wisdom that comes from having done a lot of building. Steel buildings are a great way to simplify structural design and spend your money on the juicy bits, so it's good to have a GC who is also plugged into the steel building market/design wo... read more
