I had a troubling experience with Dr. Givens and cannot recommend him, particularly for anyone with a mental health history. I visited for a thyroid checkup and to discuss recent unexplained weight gain. Although my results were normal, he offered almost no explanation or guidance, and he discouraged a specialist referral by saying it would not be worthwhile. My daughter and I both recently started seeing Dr. Givens. During my daughter’s first appointment with him he surprised my husband and I by changing her diaper instead of asking us to do it. Then over this last weekend I sent him a message about a concern I had involving my daughter and instead of responding to my message, he called me to discuss why he wasn’t concerned about what I was mentioning and also educated me on what he would be concerned about in regards to the topic.
