My GP moved from Bateau Bay to Erina Fair Medical Centre. First visit today. Took a little time to find the centre and then finding the entry/exit which was around near the playground wasn't exactly clear. A bit more signage to indicate this would have been nice, but a quick phone call and we were there. Staff were great, more than one nurse on duty. Great atmosphere and service. Absolutely pathetic!! Arrived as a walk in at 8.45am to get a simple doctors certificate. I was informed that 2 people were infront and I walked out at 10.30am. Bear in mind that you actually have to pay for this service, what an absolute joke!! Avoid at all costs, only if you have time to sit there and waste your time
I waited over an hour for a scheduled appointment. I had to repeatedly go up to reception to ask when I would be seen and was told multiple times that I was “next on the list,” yet an hour passed with no progress. Other patients who arrived after me were seen and left much earlier. I was never informed that the doctor was running late until I specifically asked what was going on instead, I was repeatedly told I was next. I had an emergency situation that involved my finger and a hedge trimmer. My partner initially took me to the ED at our local hospital but the wait times were horrendous. We called through to the Urgent Care clinic at Erina and they said come straight in. From the moment I arrived I was welcomed by the lovely receptionist and within only a few minutes was taken back to see the nurses to assess the damage.
