I was looking forward to Erik's sandwiches again. Was disappointed that this location in Saratoga is closed on New Year's Day (and on previous holidays). Erik's website was/is not very clear as to hours of operation, other than "may be affected by New Years Day."
Consistently good sandwiches. Pickles are a bit off some days. Soups are usually very good.
Used to eat lunch at Erik's regularly when I worked near the one on Bascom. This one at Quito Village is small, but it's a real Erik's, right down to the soft drink jars. The staff was friendly, and the food was fine, just as I remember it. The menu has changed a bit over the years, and the Marrakesh Express isn't currently available (darn!), but the menu promises "vintage sandwiches coming soon".
