I had one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had at ECMC’s emergency department. I came in because I’ve had a persistent cough for a long time and wanted to make sure nothing serious was going on. After registering, I was briefly examined, sent for a chest X-ray, and then left waiting for hours with almost no communication. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS EMERGENCY!! My partner is going through diabetic ketoacidosis, and the people working there couldnt care less. While my partner is throwing up any and all food they are eating, the workers are questioning if shes just doing it for attention or not. If you know anything about diabetes, you know that they need serious help in situations like this. Instead of questioning them, listen to them. If I could give ZERO stars I would… husband went in at 10/11pm at night having very bad stomach pain, chills, cannot stay awake, has been throwing up constantly to the point he cannot keep liquids down now and is just throwing up bile, and this has been going on for 2 weeks. He already has a pituitary tumor and was left in the waiting room for over 18 HOURS laying on the floor of the waiting room basically in tears (which my husband NEVER cries).
