Two things make this a must do bucket list item. 1) the canal, it is beautiful, stunning, awesome not to mention the bike path which is fabulous all by itself. 2) Erie Canal adventures make the process of renting and learning how to do this so simple, and the boat was perfect (clean and trouble free) We went for a week and made it to Lockport. Typical day, up at 6am for 1.5hr bike ride (only me everyone else slept in), casual breakfast on the boat or a nearby diner, 2-3 hours cruising, stop at some scenic spot for a cook out... read more
Five Stars: We enjoyed our canal boat rental from Erie Canal Adventures - the boat was clean, comfortable, ready on time and it worked flawlessly. Classroom and on-the-water training met all our needs and then some (it lasted a little longer than expected) but we came with somewhat extensive boat experience already. We had a three-night rental and we enjoyed the whole experience. It was a bit of a step back in time to a slower pace. it was sooooo cool it was just way cool
We spent a week on the Harriet Wiles and really enjoyed our time. The boat was fantastic and the overall service was top notch. I can’t recommend them highly enough. If your planning to do the Great loop this is a great first step and training.
Our 3 night westward journey was all we could have anticipated and we throughly enjoyed our adventure. I do suggest packing evening snacks as all the restaurants closed at either 8 or 9PM and we found ourselves as the last table of the evening.
