Our 3 night westward journey was all we could have anticipated and we throughly enjoyed our adventure. I do suggest packing evening snacks as all the restaurants closed at either 8 or 9PM and we found ourselves as the last table of the evening.
We just had a wonderful week, thanks to the folks at Erie Canal Adventures. The entire staff were extremely helpful, responsive and friendly.They even called us directly when a fierce storm was forecast, just to make sure we had made safe plans for riding out the weather. We did a terrific 7 night trip. The training was excellent and equipped us well for the journey. Manuals were clear and we had no issues at all. The team contacted us proactively to warn on high winds one day. The boat was very comfortable. Excellent hot shower and nice seating areas. The canal is beautiful. We visited some great towns and overall it was a beautiful experience. Thanks to ECA team - they did a great job.
One of the best vacations we've ever had! 2 couples in the Ortisco for 7 days, each of which was its own adventure visiting new small towns and meeting super cool people along the way. Amazing that so many locals didn't know renting a canal boat is even a thing, but they wanted to hear more about it. Highly recommend!!!
We had ao much fun cruising the Erie Canal and learning the history behind it. We loved learning how to navigate the lift bridges and locks. A really challenging adventure! We stopped at Fairport, Spencerport and Pittsford. We highly recommend a stop at each. Power and water were available at all three. Bring comfy shoes!
