Dr. Sevensma was my surgeon in January 26 for removal of part of my cecum due to a cancerous polyp. Dr. Sevensma was everything I think a surgeon should be. He communicated well and confidently with no fluff. My surgery went well and the aftercare was tremendous. He personally called me one Friday evening to check on me. He has a genuine care about him that is easy to understand. I am blessed to have such a fine surgeon in my area.
The best of the best. Thankful for his professionalism, skills, his team was great during a hard scary time.
Beware. If you do not have insurance and he creates an estimate thru my UNC chart it means nothing. We were verbally quoted 3-5K, and then an estimate was submitted for 8k. We ended up being billed for 19K out of pocket (that included a 40% discount). This is was for a 1 hour non emergency benign skin surgery handled at Grace Hospital's Surgery Center. Dr. Sevensma is a very nice man and listens to patients, had questions and Lauren left message for him to call back. Staff is concerned if you have any questions they are very concerned and will find answers.
