Overall Equinox is very nice and not too crowed. However, it is not a good value. Machines are are old and limited to just two brands. They had a PowerPlate and never replaced it. Prices go up and amenities go down. At this price point get some hairspray, deodorant, a clothes steamer, and nice blow dryers.

Equinox Lincoln Park takes full advantage of being the only decent gym in the nearby area since they know the LA Fitness a block away is a dump. As a result, they charge insane membership fees for being a slightly above average gym. They often have the same repeat issues: No hot water, broken air conditioning, buckets catching water from the ceiling, and functioning but slightly damaged equipment. It’s still a decent gym, but it’s no where in the realm of being worth $200+ a month for just this one club.

Cardio equipment is Life Fitness garbage — not upgraded like some of the better clubs in New York or Miami. Most of the members are unimpressive. If choosing clubs in Chicago, Lincoln Common is better. Only thing going for this EQ... read more

Temperature inside this gym is pretty consistently between high 70s to low 80s degrees in the summer making for a very uncomfortable workout.
