This “hospital” (for profit business) treats its patients like cash dispensers with very little thought for their well-being or care. Making people in immense pain wait hours upon hours for help is cruel, then providing inadequate treatment with poor diagnosis is further cruelty, and then making patients wait for more than an hour just to be discharged while completely ignoring requests for further help or information is beyond negligent. I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Epworth Richmond Emergency Department at around 2:00 am last night. I attended the emergency department because I was experiencing what I believed to be a serious medical condition. I was scared, anxious, and genuinely concerned about my health. Instead of receiving compassionate and professional care, I was met with rudeness, impatience, and a complete lack of empathy from both the nurse and the doctor who attended to me. I would like to sincerely thank this wonderful nurse Jaime Lee who works at the Emergency Epworth in Richmond. She gave me the most wonderful care and kindness during my time there. Her compassion, professionalism and reassuring presence made a difficult time so much easier. The patience, support and genuine concern she showed were truly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
