Sadly the Epworth Richmond emergency department has left me questioning where compassion for patients has gone and professionalism. We will be providing additional feedback to the hospital regarding the total lack of care received and negligence in a willingness to discharge the patient. Could not have been more disappointed in the care received.

If you present to this emergency hospital and are as unlucky as myself and get Dr Mark Rugless as your doctor, run as far away as you can. He was so incredibly invalidating, condescending, arrogant, unprofessional and just plain mean. I haven’t been able to even write this complaint as my experience with him has caused me so much pain and emotional trauma, I begin to panic and can’t continue to speak about it. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Charlotte, the A&E nurse at Epworth Richmond Hospital. Charlotte is truly exceptional. we could see how dedicated and professional she is. Even though the department was very busy, she remained incredibly patient, calm, and attentive throughout. Her manner was gentle, reassuring, and full of care.
