I was booked in for a day for a woman’s procedure and from the time I arrived at 8am I was treated with respect and care. From Peter in Admiisions to Danielle in change of clothes etc to Moran taking me to pre-Theatre.Then Dr Jim Yen anaesthetist very reassuring and dear Dr Lin Li Ow coming and chatting with me so I wasn’t so nervous. I would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Epworth Freemasons. This was my first time undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia, and I was very nervous beforehand. The doctors and nurses were incredibly kind, reassuring, and professional, which helped me feel calm and safe. Staff: 4.5/5 Most of the midwives, nurses and doctors are great, but also a few who don't want to be there. Special mentions to Veronica, Meagan and night shift in-charge Kathy, who all took turns looking after my partner during labour and after birth. They were sensational. Following my caesarean birth in July 2024, I experienced ongoing discomfort and complications that were not adequately addressed during my stay. My symptoms were repeatedly reassured as normal, despite later being diagnosed with a bowel ileus by my obstetrician. I was profusely vomiting and unwell, and the midwife in charge did not offer me, my husband, or my newborn any support, nor did she contact my obstetrician. Can’t express enough how amazing my experience was at this hospital. Every single nurse, surgeon, doctor that looked after me were angels. Very communicative, very comforting and all round lovely staff! I felt listened and cared for very well!
